The Coach House & Peacock Cottage Manton, The Old Mill Ramsbury open for NGS

The Coach House
Bridge Street, Manton, Marlborough, SN8 4HR. Anna Marsden.
Travelling W out of Marlborough on A4 turn L after 1m to Manton village.
Garden is 50 metres from A4 by telegraph pole on R. For parking continue into
village and follow signs. Sun 25 July (2-5). Combined adm with Peacock
Cottage £7, chd free. Home-made teas.
½- acre country garden surrounding C18 barn, comprising herbaceous border,
mixed colour themed beds, pond garden and small veg/soft fruit patch.
Informal lawns and mature trees provide a relaxed setting for garden art and
wildflowers. C18 well used to water garden. ¾ of garden has disabled access on
grass, gravel and cobble paths. Dogs on leads welcome. Plants for sale at Peacock Cottage.

Peacock Cottage
Preshute Lane, Manton, Marlborough, SN8 4HQ. Ian & Clare Maurice. 1m to
W of Marlborough along A4, turn L at Manton Village sign. Pass signs to
partner garden and follow Car Park signs. If arriving through Manton village
turn R by pub. Sun 25 July (2-5). Combined adm with The Coach House £7,
chd free.
Set in rural surroundings, this expertly tended, undulating garden, sweeps up
from the rear of the house and comprises herbaceous and mixed borders,
parterre and exotic bed. Created in 1966 when 2 cottages and their gardens
combined, and has been developed considerably over last 15yrs. Disabled
parking places identified in car park. Wheelchair access to garden is via lawns
and grass paths.

The Old Mill
Ramsbury, SN8 2PN. Annabel & James Dallas. 8m NE of Marlborough. From
Marlborough head to Ramsbury. At The Bell PH follow sign to Hungerford. Garden behind yew hedge on R 100yds beyond The Bell. Sun 25 July, Sun 22

The River Kennet runs through this
garden with a millrace, a millstream
and small channels to walk across and
watch the reflections in. The planting is
relaxed and colourful near the house
and gets more naturalistic further out
into the meadows beyond. Gravel and
grass paths wind through controlled
wilder areas with seating for visitors.
There is a more formal and productive kitchen garden. Partial wheelchair
access as gravel paths and bridges and very soft ground in places.
