Ramsbury Horticultural Society aims to provide a year round programme of events for all those interested in gardens and gardening.
From September to May there are monthly talks on garden-related topics; there are outings to outstanding gardens – often with historic houses attached – and three shows are held each year so we can indulge in some friendly rivalry. We have a plant sale in early May which offers great plants at very reasonable prices and an open gardens afternoon, held at varying times from late spring through to early summer, which allows us into some lovely village gardens, both large and small. The social side is not neglected, with a Christmas Party in December and biennially a supper in June as part of the Rose Show.
The Society is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society because this brings many benefits, but it is very much a village group, run by and for its members. All our events are friendly and informal and non members are always welcome to attend talks and come on the outings. But as membership is kept at a very reasonable level (currently £10 for a family or £5 for an individual, why not join us? Then you can enjoy all the benefits of membership including the fun wine tasting at the Christmas Party and the chance of winning a trophy at the shows.
