SUMMARY:Sally Morgan  - The Resilient Gardener
DESCRIPTION:Sally is an experienced no-dig\, organic gardener and plant lover\, growing her first plants at the tender age of 5.  She is a botanist by training\, author and freelance writer specialising in resilient\, climate change gardening\, organic gardening\, smallholding\, wildlife and countryside issues.  Sally is an experienced speaker and has  given talks at RHS Hampton Court.  \nShe is the former editor of Organic Farming Magazine published by the Soil Association and writes for magazines such as for Living Earth\, Bloom and Amateur Gardening and other titles in the gardening and smallholder field.\nSally’s latest book is The Resilient Garden and Allotment Handbook\, Her talk on ‘The Resilient Gardener’ looks at how to make your growing space better able to deal with changeable climate  – covering topics such as soil (no dig\, living roots\, root diversity\,. mulches\, living mulches)\, diverse planting\, natural predators\,  flowers to grow\, managing water (too much and too little) and ending with rewilding.

SUMMARY:Andrew Tolman  - A Winter’s Tale.
DESCRIPTION:Andrew  started his  Horticulture career in 1983 becoming a Parks Department Trainee Garden in Swindon doing City & Guilds Ornamental Horticulture at Lackham College. He then took a job as Greenkeeper with Swindon Parks at Broome Manor Golf course where he stayed for 16 years up to Deputy Head. \nHe now works in several large private gardens and estates mainly in South Glos and North Wiltshire my work is very varied from garden consultation\, garden restoration\, design & build\, specialist renovation pruning\, general pruning including a lot of trained fruit\, topiary & ornamental hedges.\nMy main personal plant passions are Snowdrops\, Ferns\, Shade & Woodland plants\, alpines\, dahlias\, other tropical style plants and many more besides.” \nI then wanted to return to working with plants and work in the private sector for my first time. I worked at Several large private estates and gardens for 13 years before going Self employed in 2013 which I have continued doing so until this day.\nI now work for a variety of country houses & estates mainly in South Glos & North Wiltshire with a few further field and my work is very varied from garden consultation\, garden restoration\, design & build\, specialist renovation pruning\, general pruning including a lot of trained fruit\, topiary & ornamental hedges.\nMy main personal plant passions are Snowdrops\, Ferns\, Shade & Woodland plants\, alpines\, dahlias\, other tropical style plants and many more besides.”\nPlease note: Although Andrew worked at Highgrove many years ago\, this talk and Q&A will not cover anything to do with his time there.
